This is a Limited Edition (#0614/1847). It is quite substantial and is heavily gold plated (see pics). It is in near pristine condition and has never actually been used - has only been gently handled and displayed with minimal surface scratches (see pics). Comes with box as pictured. CARTIER DESIGN HISTORY of this BEAUTIFUL PIECE. The Crocodile Pen draws its inspiration from the famous Crocodile necklace created for Maria Felix, a renowned Mexican actress and one of the "Maison's" most prestigious clients, who had a spectacular Crocodile necklace designed for her. She was popular during the 1940-50's and was known as Mexico's answer to Marilyn Monroe. It was based on her live baby crocodile that the extravagant diva kept and entrusted to Cartier as inspiration. She believed the crocodile to be her personal talisman and had several custom made reptile-themed jewelry. The astounding realism of the scales are perfectly chiseled out by a master artisan.
