I bought a few as backup as soon as Jim Madrid mentioned that he was closing up shop. Even after purchasing a number of newer bolt action pens over the years from Kickstarter and Amazon such as Tactile Turn, Refyne, Karas Kustoms, Tin Mill, Inventery, and Feelhoetler, I still continue to come back to my original Maxmadco crafted pen. Some prefer a very large barrel, others prefer a titanium lightweight finish. However, the Maxmadco pen is more balanced and solidly built overall. It's just that good. Schmidt oil ink refills, a few blue black gel refills that are harder to come by, and if you'd like, a few other fine tipped gel refills that I've stocked up to see what works for you.
